But Honey... ¿no esta muy cara la máscara?

Aligned with Mascara- @nicki.nicole

Recently, I’ve started watching the TV serie Chad Powers.
Inevitablemente, cruza por mi mente la pregunta:

Are we all experiencing the “Chad Powers” syndrome?

Not because of football. Because of the mask.

Russ Holliday wants the career he believes he deserves.
But the door he is trying to walk through again has already closed.

So he creates another door. Another name. Another face. Another version of himself.

And somehow, the disguise works.
Until it doesn’t.

Because there is something terribly inconvenient about pretending to be someone else:
eventually, you have to remember who you really are.

And maybe that’s why the story feels bigger than a sports comedy.

Because how many of us have done a quieter version of the same thing?

We want a job.
A relationship.
An opportunity.
A place where we think we belong.

A version of ourselves we spent years building- we start asking:
“What version of me do I need to fit in that door?”

We adapt.
We perform.
We polish.
We learn the language.
We wear the right clothes.
We say the right things.

We become remarkably good at being Chad Powers.
Until one day… the mask starts becoming heavier than the person underneath it.

Te cobra tu rostro real, tu identidad, tu autenticidad.

Y entonces ocurre algo hermoso.

Dejas de intentar convencer.
Dejas de intentar pertenecer.

Simplemente caminas.

P.D: Y recuerden amiguitos:
🗨️So maybe the question isn’t:“Who do I need to become to get through that door?”
Maybe it’s: “Do I even need to walk through that door?”

Because sometimes the bravest thing isn’t finding another disguise. It’s taking off the one we’ve been wearing for too long.
And walking away as ourselves. 🐺
